Save Education Maintenance Allowance
The Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is being abolished.
The Save EMA Campaign has called a public meeting in the House of Commons to discuss the realities confronting young people at sixth form and college, their parents and the wider community.
This month is the first in over 6 years where the government will no longer accept applications for the Education Maintenance Allowance. Once the academic year ends, no one will receive EMA.
Tuesday, January 11 · 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Committee Room 8 / 10, House of Commons
The petition can be found here.

'We the undersigned oppose the axing of the Education Maintenance Allowance which helps thousands of young people to reach their full potential. We believe that the loss of EMA will damage our country's economic future and impact on social justice by making it harder for disadvantaged young people to access education and will lead to cuts in local provision as colleges respond to reductions in learner numbers. We therefore call upon government not to axe EMA and to continue supporting adult learners through the Adult Learning
