NATECLA's nominated charity, the Ruth Hayman Trust, is delighted to invite the ESOL community to an online event during Refugee Week 2021.

The event is a conversation between two of the Ruth Hayman Trust's distinguished patrons: broadcaster Sue MacGregor CBE of Woman’s hour’, ‘Today’ and ‘The Reunion’ fame, and Lord Alf Dubs, a life peer and former Director of the Refugee Council, who has personal experience of life as a refugee having arrived in Britain as a six-year-old Kindertransport child from Czechoslovakia. He will be sharing his memories of settling into a new life in the UK and describing his recent campaign for the rights of unaccompanied child refugees to be reunited with family members.

Ruth Hayman Trust Refugee Week Campaign 2021

To mark Refugee Week 2021 (14 – 20 June), the Trust are aiming to raise £2,000 to provide grants to at least two individuals to help further their aspirations and contribution to society. Please help reach this target by making a donation, sharing with friends and family - or maybe by organising your own Refugee Week fundraising event…
