The Department for Business Innovation and Skills are introducing a new right for employees to request time to train. "Investing in the skills of your employees is an investment in the future of your business. A better skilled workforce is more productive, more adaptable, more innovative and better motivated – better able to help you take your business to the next level". From April 2010, employees in businesses who employ 250 or more people will have the right to request time to train. Only employees who have worked for you for 26 weeks will be eligible to make a request under the new right. The right will be extended to cover employees in businesses of all sizes in April 2011 This leaflet summarizes the details.http://www.dius.gov.uk/~/media/publications/T/time-to-train-employer-leaflet
