NATECLA's East of England branch will be holding their first Spring Conference this term:

  • Keynote speaker - Co-chair of NATECLA Nafisah Graham-Brown
  • Four different workshops, one to include Judy Kirsh's renowned session on 'Teaching basic literacy to lower level learners'
  • The day will culminate with a Teachmeet on 'Teaching mixed level classes' - a chance to share practical teaching tips with other colleagues you've met throughout the day.

There are four workshop sessions so you will have the opportunity to attend all four:

In the morning:

  • Literacy for lower level learners, Judy Kirsh, NATECLA

  • Principles and Practices of Teaching Beginners (using Mandarin), Giles Armour, Colchester Institute

In the afternoon:

  • The Impact of Digital tools on teaching & learning in the ESOL classroom, Rachel Turner, WEA

  • Making Learning Visible, Emily Curran, The Bell Foundation
