The National Research and Development Centre for Adult Literacy and Numeracy (NRDC) has recently taken on responsibility for LONCETT as well as the London Strategic Unit and in this capacity is keen to re-convene their London teacher training networks as one London group. The December meeting will be an opportunity to discuss and reflect on the government position and funding situation. We are pleased that we will have contributions from Sue Colquhoun (IfL), Sally Bird (CfBT), Lucy Oakley (talent website) and we look forward to having a good representation from teacher trainers/educators across London both from FE and HE. Discussion topics will include: -The recent Ofsted report on teacher education - Funding of teacher training (HE and FE) - Funding for trainees - Models of delivery for teacher training - Talent survey - The LLUK consultation on teaching qualifications - The training needs of teachers of functional skills – best practice Places are limited.
