NALDIC (National Association for Language Development in the Curriculum)Conference

NALDIC's annual conference takes place Saturday November 14th at the University of Reading Integrated Language, Integrated Curriculum The conference theme is first and second language development opportunities and practice within the integrated curriculum, meshing together English language development and the development of languages other than English. The Keynote speaker is Professor Ofelia Garcia, from City University of New York The other speakers include: - Professor Viv Edwards, NCLL, University of Reading, (Professor Edwards is well known for work on literacy and bilingual learners) - Professor Margaret Hawkins, University of Wisconsin-Madison (research and literacy development in multilingual classrooms) - Professor Kelleen Toohey, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver (also researching multilingual classrooms) And invited speakers leading afternoon seminar sessions - More information and application forms are available on the NALDIC website www.naldic.org.uk
