NRDC practitioner forums

Back to events list
NRDC is hosting a series of practitioner forums. These are forums where current NRDC research in adult literacy, language and numeracy is discussed, critiqued and scrutinised for its implications for practice. This series will focus on a particular area of research, Working with Young Adults – with a view to incorporating the insights and opinions of practitioners into a practitioner guide due for publication in 2006. What happens? Practitioners are invited to attend A summary of main themes is presented at the forum Practitioners discuss the research Comments are gathered and collated Why practitioner forums? NRDC is committed to carrying out research of relevance to practice; it is essential that the voice of practitioners is heard. Research findings may not always concur with chalk-face experience. We need to know about perceived gaps and oversights. Forums provide an immediate, interpersonal opportunity for engaging with crucial and current questions in the field. Why should you be there?  To add your opinion to the debate  To be part of the research/development cycle  To put practice at the heart of the practitioner guide series  To hear about and reflect on research in your field  To ensure research talks with practice rather than to practice Where and when? 14 October 2005 Taunton 31 October 2005 Cambridge 9 November 2005 Wolverhampton 1 December 2005 Cumbria 5 December 2005 York 7 December 2005 London To book a place contact Richard Bull.
