This year's National Conference will once again be at Conference Aston, part of the Aston University campus in Birmingham. The conference accommodation sits within the landscaped university campus which is walkable from Birmingham's vibrant city centre.

Conference Aston is within a 10-15 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride of Birmingham New Street, Moor Street or Snow Hill train stations. It's easily accessible by major bus routes and only a few minutes drive from the M6 / Aston Expressway.

Conference Aston Facilities

Conference Aston has its own hotel on site so delegates, exhibitors or speakers who have booked conference tickets including accommodation will not have far to go. The ensuite bedrooms come complete with complimentary WiFi, an LED TV with digital TV service, an iron and board, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities.

Residential guests will also have access to the onsite Woodcock Sports Centre with its 25 metre Victorian pool (Birmingham's oldest swimming pool) and 110 station gymnasium. A day pass can be purchased from the Sports Centre.

 

All meals, which are freshly prepared using seasonal ingredients will be served in the Courtyard Restaurant which overlooks a beautifully landscaped outside space. There is also a well-stocked hotel bar for delegates to relax in after dinner.

With a population of about one million people, Birmingham is England's second largest city by population and a centre for culture, sport, music and architecture. Situated in the West Midlands it has many landmarks dating from the Industrial Revolution that speak to its 18th-century history as a manufacturing powerhouse. It’s also home to a network of canals many of which radiate from Sherborne Wharf and are now lined with cafes and bars. In the city centre, the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is known for pre-Raphaelite masterpieces. If it's shopping you're after then Birmingham is home to the famous Bullring & Grand Central, the luxurious Mailbox Birmingham and the Jewellery Quarter.  Birmingham is the centre for the 2022 Commonwealth Games which is taking place throughout August. The Birmingham Festival is a six-month programme of arts and cultural events running from March to September to accompany the Games. The festival will shine a spotlight on creativity and culture in the region and will feature over 100 new creative works and events such as dance, drama, visual arts, music, photography, digital art and more.
