Welcoming our new Co-Chair, Cathy Clarkson
We’re delighted to welcome Dr. Cathy Clarkson as NATECLA’s new Co-Chair.
Cathy has worked as an ESOL tutor and teacher trainer in FE colleges across West Yorkshire. She gained her Doctor in Education from the University of Huddersfield in 2025, researching teacher learning through classroom observation.
Cathy has a long-standing connection with NATECLA. She was Co-Chair of the Yorkshire & Humberside branch from 2012–2017 and has co-convened the ESOL Research Community since 2020. We’re delighted that she is now taking on the role of Co-Chair of NATECLA,.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr Naeema Hann for her work and dedication as outgoing Co-Chair. Naeema has made an invaluable contribution to NATECLA during her time in the role, and we are hugely grateful for her leadership, commitment and support for the ESOL community.
We’re delighted that Naeema will continue to be part of NATECLA as one of our trustees, and we look forward to continuing to benefit from her experience and expertise.
