Have Your Say: Government Survey on English Language Provision
Deadline: 30 October 2026
NATECLA is urging members involved in the leadership, management or strategic oversight of English language provision to contribute to a national stakeholder survey commissioned by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
The survey is being conducted by Alma Economics as part of the Review of English Language Provision Across Government. The research aims to build a clearer understanding of how English language provision is currently funded, delivered and accessed across England, particularly among marginalised and under-served communities.
Findings will help inform future policy development across MHCLG, the Department for Education (DfE), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Home Office.
The survey explores topics including:
Funding and delivery models
Barriers to participation and digital exclusion
Reaching under-served communities
Links between English language provision and employment outcomes
The effectiveness of current funding arrangements
The survey is aimed at local authorities, further education colleges and Strategic Migration Partnerships, and should ideally be completed by those with direct management responsibility for English language provision. Only one response per organisation will be accepted.
Participation is voluntary, responses will be kept confidential, and the survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
