Doctoral journeys of ESOL practitioners: a panel discussion

The ESOL Research Community are delighted to host a panel discussion featuring four researchers at different stages of their research journey. The session will explore the experiences of conducting research, from developing proposals to collecting data and publishing findings.

This session is a moderated discussion based on questions submitted by the ESOL Research Community. This one-hour panel is designed to share practical insights and foster dialogue on conducting ESOL-related research. After the panel, you are invited to join informal breakout rooms (5:00–5:30 pm) for networking and further discussion.

Panel members

  • Orsolya Dunn (Ayrshire College & University of Glasgow)

  • Sam Shepherd (Shipley College)

  • Zaina Aljumma (Swansea University)

  • Rachid Meftah (Bradford College & University of Leeds)

You can read the panel member bios on the ESOL Research Community padlet.

As always, the event is completely free to attend, and we are committed to keeping it that way. If you have found value in these events and would like to support a good cause, we invite you to make a donation to the Ruth Hayman Trust. The Trust supports ESOL learners with small grants to support education and training. There is absolutely no obligation to donate, but if you are in a position to contribute, it would be gratefully received by the charity.
