Consultation on draft National Occupational Standards for Intercultural Working: Working effectively with people from different countries or cultures
You are invited to contribute to this consultation. These new UK Standards must be relevant and valuable to all sectors – private, public, voluntary and community. They could be a useful tool for you, so please give us your comments.
The Standards identify the skills and knowledge required for working both in multicultural UK and internationally. The benefits are:
-better communication between people of different cultures and countries
-mutually respectful and supportive working relations
-more productive workforces
-improved customer service
-more effective international trade
-strengthened diversity and equality policies and procedures
National Occupational Standards are a national benchmark for what people do at work. They can be used to plan recruitment, develop staff, standardize practice and design training and qualifications, assuring quality and professionalism.
