Train the Teacher Trainers
These free intensive Training the Teacher Trainer courses consist of five contact days, tutorial support, and up to 180 self study / blended learning hours. The course covers both generic and subject specific theory and practice of teacher training.
It is open to LLN teacher trainers and experienced teachers from any region in the country, and is offered through the LSIS Skills for Life Improvement Programme.

Is this course for me?
- If you would like to build your confidence as a teacher trainer and would like an opportunity to reflect on and up-date your practice, or if you are an experienced LLN teacher who is thinking of becoming a teacher trainer, then this course is for you.
What will I gain from this course?
It will help you to:
-identify your development needs as an ESOL, Literacy or Numeracy teacher trainer
-up-date yourself on developments in teacher education
-develop skills in planning teacher training courses
-consider trends and methodologies in teacher education
-critically reflect on theory and practice in teacher education
-meet your annual CPD target
What are the entry criteria?
It is open to well qualified LLN teachers and teacher trainers with at least 3 years experience of teaching within a Skills for Life setting. You will need to attend all five days and be committed to completing the set assignment.
