About the role
Haringey Adult Learning Service is seeking to recruit a Senior Tutor for provision of the following courses
  • ESOL / Wellbeing
Senior Tutors will undertake specific curriculum responsibility roles, which may change according to HALS requirements. Areas to include community engagement and employability.
Senior Tutors will support the curriculum manager and tutors working within their related responsibility area.

Senior tutors will have a teaching commitment and are expected to support and encourage learners throughout their learning journey and to progress to other higher level courses, volunteering or employment as well as showcase teaching and learning that is both innovative and engaging.
 
About you
You should be able to work proactively within a team, chair small team meetings, deliver appropriate bite size CPD, support the peer observation process and disseminate best teaching practice and resources, including E-Learning across the wider curriculum team.
You should be willing to help develop the curriculum in your specialism to the benefit of all learners and the service and contribute to the Self-Assessment and Quality Improvement processes. 
You should have recent experience in delivering a top quality learning experience to adult learners with differentiated learning needs.
We would expect you to continue to develop your teaching skills through CPD. 
 
Tutors would also need to ensure that their learners are well prepared for the exams they need to take at the end of their courses. 
 
All staff should work to meet national, local and OFSTED inspection requirements including Safeguarding and Prevent strategies.
 
Applicants should hold a PGCE, DELTA, DTTLS or CELTA equivalent qualification in teaching adults.  
 
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced disclosure check with the DBS will be undertaken.
