Action for ESOL demo and lobby

NATECLA would strongly urge as many ESOL practitioners as possible to attend the following Action for ESOL demonstration against cuts to ESOL and JCP provision:

  • WHERE: Outside the BIS offices in London, 1 Victoria Street SW1H 0ET
  • WHEN: Wednesday 16th September at 5.30pm.
Download the Action for ESOL flyer and circulate to your colleagues. Please also invite your students to this important demo against JCP closures.

These cuts are hitting colleges and community providers very hard, many courses have already been cut, jobs already lost and there will be further cut course and job losses over the next few weeks unless we turn this decision round. You can find details, map and downloadable materials for the demo on the Action for ESOL website

  • You may also be interested in attending the Refugees Welcome Here demo this Saturday. 100,000 people have joined the Facebook group.
  • London Region UCU and Action for ESOL are co-hosting a lobby in parliament against the ESOL cuts and Adult Ed cuts on Wednesday 14th October at 12 noon. They are looking for students to speak at the lobby. Please ask your students to write to their MP and arrange to meet them at the lobby. You can find your MP and contact them here: https://www.writetothem.com/
