Sessional Lecturers in English Language, Wrexham, Wales

The Second Language Learning Centre at Glyndwr University is a rapidly expanding academic area, with usually around 1000 enrolments per Academic Year - mainly in the areas of EAP, CPD and part-time short courses in ESOL at HE level (English for Professional Purposes). Full-time ESOL courses are another growing field of activity, as are tailor-made English language packages offered both at the University and on company premises in and around Wrexham. In addition to English, the Centre offers short courses in MFL.

Due to expansion of its summer school activities, the Centre wishes to appoint additional sessional lecturers to contribute to the teaching of English short programmes in August 2015. The length of contract is negotiable, and the Centre can help with accommodation requests if needed.

Applicants are expected to have native speaker competence in English, a teaching qualification (e.g. CELTA/DELTA) and adequate experience of English language teaching. Newly qualified teachers will also be considered as appropriate.

Hours of work are negotiable, but will usually consist of 18 hrs of class contact per week Monday-Friday, 9.00 am – 5.00 pm. Payment is £23.18/hr or £31.67/hr, depending on the type of course. The pay covers all preparatory and assessment tasks.
