Skilled and highly skilled migrants applying for settlement

UKBA Letter 16 February 'Immigration rules changes affecting the language requirement for settlement' From April, skilled and highly skilled migrants applying for settlement will only be able to to meet the Knowledge of Language and Life in the UK requirement by passing the Life in the UK Test. ‘Migrants, including dependants, in all other routes will not be affected by these changes and can continue to choose to take either the ESOL with Citizenship course or the Life in the UK Test in order to satisfy the criteria for settlement’.
