The consultation was launched on 25 July, by Allan Wilson MSP, Deputy Minister for Enterprise & Lifelong Learning, and Malcolm Chisholm MSP, Minister for Communities‘Adult ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Strategy for Scotland’.. A link to the consultation paper is provided below: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/esolconsultation The consultation paper essentially is the draft strategy, with the addition of Stakeholder Platforms and consultation questions on particular aspects of what is being proposed. The purpose of the Stakeholder Platforms is to allow selected key stakeholders to express views on the draft Strategy and more generally on the themes under discussion. It is hoped that by outlining the aspirations of both providers and users, the Platforms will usefully inform individual responses to the consultation. We hope to launch the finalised ESOL Strategy in the first half of 2006. If you wish to reply to the consultation, please note that the deadline for written replies is Monday 31 October.
