Trinity College London, is running support seminars and workshops for ESOL teachers in March 2008. All teachers who missed the May and October 2007 Trinity workshops are welcome to attend, free of charge Session topics include: - New Trinity Certificates in ESOL for Work Information Session - Further Education TESOL qualifications Information Session - Trinity ESOL SfL Teacher Support Session Dates and Location 3rd March - Bristol 5th March – London 10th March - Newcastle ESOL for Work Information Session: The Trinity Certificates in ESOL for Work focus on the language skills and contexts which are often encountered in the workplace. They have been designed in response to the government agenda to improve language skills in employment. This introduction session includes: - Overview of the syllabus and levels (E3 to L1). - How the examinations are assessed. There will be an opportunity to watch video samples of the exams. Further Education TESOL Information Session: We will be looking at the following, in connection with the Trinity's new Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS): - What qualifications you need, how you can study for them, and how long it takes. - What you will need to do in order to obtain Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) - How TESOL Certificate and Diploma programmes relate to the new qualifications, including Preparing Teachers for the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) requirements for new teachers. - Course content, both generic and ESOL, entry and exit requirements including the minimum core. - Alternative qualification routes. ESOL Skills for Life Teacher Support : This workshop focuses on giving practical exam preparation and advice to teachers of the Trinity ESOL Skills for Life Exams, including - How to prepare candidates for reading and writing exams. - Preparing candidates and facilitators for the speaking & listening exams. - The examiners - What are they looking for?
