ESOL National Support Project (NSP) ESOL in Wales Conferences CARDIFF: 7th February 2008 at the Angel Hotel LLANDUDNO: 22nd February 2008 at Venue Cymru The focus is on ESOL teaching and learning. Workshops will include aspects of teaching methodology, a Managers and Stakeholders Discussion Forum and a Supporters Workshop. On offer: Workshops, Resources, Consultation, Sharing Practice, News & developments updates. These conferences are an important method of supporting national priorities. They are of very high importance for all providers of ESOL - for ESOL practitioners, coordinators and managers. The ESOL National Support Project is one of the methods used to implement the Welsh Assembly Government’s National Basic Skills Strategy, ‘Words Talk- Numbers Count’. To enable providers and practitioners to improve the quality of the ESOL learning experience the conferences provide training workshops, updates on developments, dissemination of essential information and funded resources. In addition an attendance fee of £70 to cover teaching remission and consultation (evaluation feedback & simple questionnaire to be completed at conference) is offered to organisations for each delegate. It is hoped that ESOL organisations take up this opportunity to send as many practitioners as possible. The Web Review ‘Promise and Performance’ clearly highlights ESOL as a priority – see page 108: http://wales.gov.uk/topics/educationandskills/educationskillsnews/promise-and-performance-review?lang=en
