The Teachmeet is always a very popular session during the annual National Conference and we are pleased to offer this opportunity again this year within our online conference.

 What is a Teachmeet?

A Teachmeet is a series of snappy, 3 minute informal presentations where you can share your most effective teaching ideas with like-minded practitioners and get some great ideas from other delegates.

Want to be involved?

Entry 1 ESOL  -how to keep learners motivatedTaking part in this year's Trinity Teachmeet is as easy as 1-2-3

  1. Think of your best activity / ideas to encourage ESOL learners during lockdown or effective tips and tricks to assist your fellow ESOL practitioners
  2. Include a title and brief overview of your proposed presentation when you book your ticket for the conference. Or email lisa@natecla.org.uk with your proposal after you've secured your ticket.
  3. We will let you know at the end of June if you will be presenting at the event (from the comfort of your own home) and will give further instructions.

 

During the Teachmeet, Penny O'Callaghan, from Trinity College London will deliver a presentation on the following:

In this demonstration we will look at that favourite topic of British conversation…the weather.  Students master the vocabulary and build their confidence in simple role plays which are not the traditional Q and A of beginner EFL dialogues but unfold through listening and responding.  Along the way students can be reminded of questions and topics to avoid when exchanging pleasantries with their new neighbours.
