Further details:

VSO is the world’s leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries.

This is a unique opportunity to influence teaching practice in Myanmar and to have a profound impact on the way teachers, and therefore children, are taught.

We are offering multiple, 12-24 month placements and are looking for teacher trainers to deliver training to academic staff who teach English language to Myanmar’s student teachers, using British Council global materials.

You’ll be a qualified English Language teacher with a high proficiency in English and a minimum of three year’s relevant teaching/training experience. We are looking for a self-starter with the flexibility to work in a challenging environment. Most importantly, we are looking for teachers who are passionate about sharing teaching knowledge and skills.

This is a flagship project for VSO – volunteers for this project will be VSO’s very first within the state education sector in Myanmar, and the first internationals to work within the country’s education colleges for decades.

Placements begin in August 2014.
