Dr Catherine Walter will give the opening address. Catherine is the course leaderof MA in TESOL at the Institute of Education, University of London and she has a special interest in the teaching of grammar. A synopsis of her talk is attached

1.'Engaging young learners' led by Ann Bradwell Youth Literacies worker, Edinburgh
Participants will learn about key methods for engaging 'hard to reach' young people.

2. Ideas for adapting and integrating language and citizenship skills at Entry levels 1 - 3 led by Charlotte Haenlein
The workshop will explore practical ways of building up a bank of resources to activate citizenship/ESOL learning relevant to your own local area

3. Where next for ESOL ILPs led by Karen Dudley Tower Hamlets
Get a brief update on the research and preview the emerging findings and recommendations

4. Enhancing ESOL Teaching through the use of voice and mime, led by Mark Young lewisham College
By focusing on vocal technique, the session will help the delegates to both utilise their own vocal potential and help their learners to develop greater expression. Interactive session
