ESOL for Work
Speakers: Judith Swift MBE, Union Development Manager at the TUC discussed the current relevance and impact for individuals and employers of providing learning opportunities for ESOL learners at work. Judith takes the lead role for supporting unions in developing their learning and skills capacity.
Celia Roberts, Senior Research Fellow at King's College London in the Department of Education and Professional Studies gave us the results of research 'Language, ethnicity and discrimination in the British job interview'
Sharon Simpson from Asset Skills gave information on the role of the Sector Skills Councils and talked about the work of Asset Skills -how they are linked into the current initiatives such as Train to Gain etc.
